A Relationship

I always wonder how I am to have an intimate relationship with God when I am a person who has a hard time telling people I see. When I'm at work I listen to the Christian radio station Z88.3 in Florida. Today it had a lady on telling a little about how we can have a relationship with Christ even though we cannot see Him or hear Him. I thought we are just to read the Bible which is why my fiance and I were doing that, but it seems imagining that He is with us in everything we do or imagining we are talking to Him, helps build that bond. I'm curious to try it and see what will happen. Last year when I was starting this blog, I was doing exactly that. Before I bought my house, I imagined God being with me when I met my realtor. Picture Him being in the room with you like He is your friend and talk to Him out loud I hear helps also. I tried that once and it as a little weird, but I don't think I was actually talking to Him. It was more like I was just saying my thoughts out loud, but not to anyone. It seems foolish to believe we are actually talking to someone especially when He is not visible, but I'm willing to try it out again . . .

Good Habit

So I've never really been one to read the Bible in my free time. Always have known that we should, but where do you start? How do you understand what you are reading? Well, devotionals are nice. They usually give you a little bit of scripture with some kind of story to go along with it to explain it in a way. I've also heard to start in Psalms or Proverbs. My fiance and I have been reading the Love Dare Day to Day book together, which is a year's worth of daily devotions for couples. We decided maybe we should read a little more together because you can't really get into the Word unless you read it. You also can't tell others about it when they have questions such as, "Is drinking alcohol a sin?" We started reading Psalms at night after our devotion. Hopefully we are taking what we read with us so we can share it with others and develop a closer relationship with God.
